Another ICONic Story Season 3 Ch. 39

“Averi, get OUT!” Leena pointed to me when she saw the camera stop.

I teared up, grabbing my swollen eye, “But I didn’t start it…”

“I said, OUT!” Leena kneeled down by Gabriela. I whimpered and ran out of the studio. Why, why did I have to get out, and not Gabriela? I ran faster, trying to find any door to run inside. The hallway did circles, and I ran in to the side of a wall while trying to turn a corner. I hit the floor and pushed myself up, the tears turning in to frustrated moans. I tried to pry open my eye, but it was still swollen. I heard footsteps behind me. As I turned, I saw the cameraman following me. The red light had turned back on.

“Please, go away,” I cornered against a wall, turning my eye away and covering my face.

“You heard her. Go away,” Meghna rounded the corner and covered up the lens. The man let out a shrug and stopped and left us alone. I clutched Meghna’s arms and cried in to her shoulder. She held me tight, making sure I didn’t slip off. When the sobs turned in to sniffs, I lifted my head. A big puddle of tears had drenched her shoulder. I tried taking my sleeve and wiping them off, but she just shrugged my arm off, laughing, “Come on, let’s you get you back to the condo.”

“Hey girls,” Lil Mama passed us in the hall, struggling to carry Vitamin Waters in her arms. We passed, but I saw her glance back, all the sudden stopping as if it took her awhile to notice my face. The bottles hit the floor and she jogged back to me, turning me around. “What happened?”

“Nothing,” I shook my head side to side. Meghna just pursed her lips and stayed quiet.

“Nothing doesn’t cause a swollen eye,” she crawled over and grabbed a bottle of the water, and pressed it against my eye. She handed one to Meghna and I thanked her. She let us go and Meghna and I continued back to the condo.

“Girls?” My mom peeked around the corner of the kitchen as we came in the back door. When she saw me, she stopped chopping up lettuce, “Averi!”

“Gabriela hit her,” Meghna handed me to her. My mom, being a nurse, she scurried off to find her medical kit immediately. When she returned, she tilted my head up and put a small drop of of liquid in my eye.

“What was that? It’s cold,” I rubbed my eye when she let go.

“Prednisolone Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension,” she took her rubber gloves off.

“Mom,” I moaned, “English please.”

“Helps inflammation go down,” she put the medical kit on top of the fridge and put me down on the couch with an ice pack. Meghna sat next to me.

“Don’t you want to go back?” I asked her.

“No way,” she half smiled and grabbed my arm. “Gabriela went crazy, didn’t she?”

“I wasn’t laughing,” I frowned. “I wasn’t. I didn’t mean to offend her. I’ve turned in to a monster.”

“No, no don’t say that! She just… Isn’t used to everything yet. I think she’s just starting drama, that’s all.”

“I don’t walk to talk behind her back,” I stood up. “I’m going up for a nap. See you.”

I trudged up the stairs and opened my door slowly . I closed the curtains, turned on my laptop music, which happened to play Vanilla Twilight by Owl City. I pulled the covers over my shoulders and put the ice on my nightstand. Laying on my back, I stared up at the ceiling. Everything was supposed to be perfect the second time, but maybe I just wasn’t meant to be here. I always ended up getting hurt. As I continued to think, I let my eye get heavy, joining my swelled eye in closing.

“Averi?” My dad cracked the door open. I was able to open both eyes now, and I sat up. Him and Mom both tiptoed in, joining me on my bed.

“What’s going on?” my voice was groggy.

“We think we need to take a couple days off to have you chill out for awhile, get away from all this.”

“Okay, are we going to the beach or something?” I perked up.

“Not exactly…” Dad began.

My mom stopped him and continued the sentence herself, “He’s the only one we think can calm you down, give you peace. We are taking you to Manhattan to see Brandon.”

Another ICONic Story Season 3 Ch. 38

“You alright?” Karina shook my forearm. I jolted as I realized I had been staring out the car window.

“What? Oh, yeah,” I assured her. When we pulled up to the studio, I stepped out slowly, sneezing when the sun hit my eyes. The wind blew and no clouds occupied the sky. It was all sun, my favorite kind of weather. A weird feeling sat in the pit of my stomach as I saw everyone run for the front doors while I continued to stay on the curb. I felt like…I shouldn’t be here. I craned my head each way, looking on each side of the street. When not one car was near, I just shook my head and trudged on. What was up with me today?

“And then you’ll turn either way,” Leena grabbed Meghna’s shoulders and guided her. I frowned as I realized I was somehow in another trance and I had skipped another 30 minutes. A cold sweat formed on my brow.

“Averi, what is up with you?” CeCe whispered from beside me.

I shrugged, “I’m fine.”

“Alright girls, take a break. Be back in ten!” Leena clapped.

“Averi, you’re really pale, what’s up?” Sarah grabbed my arm and the rest of the girls huddled around me. Gabriela stayed back.

I pushed them back and started walking, “What don’t you understand about ‘I’m fine’?” I continued walking and shook my head.

As I was about to walk out the door to get a drink, Leena said, “Well if you guys aren’t going anywhere then you might as well come back to get more practice in. Pair up in your partners!”

I moaned. “Seriously?”

“Is there a problem, Averi?” Leena pursed her lips. I shook my head and stood next to Gabriela.

She smirked halfway, “Better not want to get in the risk of being pulled out now.”

“Yeah,” I rolled my eyes at her, “I’m gonna get pulled after dancing with Leena, Karina, and Meghna for almost 7 years. More likely it’ll be you.”

“Would you two shut up?” Meghna hissed. “We’ll all be pulled if you don’t stop!”

Gabriela and I both rolled our eyes.

“Okay, turn, tut, and back walkover,” Leena pointed at me. I did what she said and Gabriela followed, only she slipped when she did her walkover. I tried not to giggle and her eyes glared at me. Was I really being this mean?

“Stop laughing at me!” Gabriela blurted.

When Leena turned to me, I froze and defended myself, “I wasn’t laughing!”

“You were too!” Gabriela pushed my shoulders. “I’m new you know!”

“Don’t touch me,” I shoved back. Gabriela grabbed my ponytail and I tackled her to the ground. I felt her hand meet my eye and I grabbed it and gasped. I flipped over and sat on her stomach, punching the side of her face.

“GIRLS!” Leena peeled me off of Gabriela. I was fuming. Leena handed me to Meghna but didn’t have enough time to grab Gabi. She lurched at me AND Meghna, attacking both of us. My shirt ripped down the side, and she hit the same eye again. I felt my hair being ripped from the ponytail holder, and it fell at my shoulders. I screamed, but Meghna continued to hold my arms back even though Gabriela was on top of me. Leena and CeCe held back Gabi’s arms and my eye swelled shut. Looking out my right eye, I saw a cameraman.

The red light stopped. He had just recorded the whole fight.

**Ah, a little drama and violence isn’t too bad… right? Hehe, I was feeling it in me today. so thanks to the people I got inboxes from, but you all don’t have to be Anons! I’d love to know who you are(: Anyways, thanks for reading! It means alot! <3

Another ICONic Story Season 3 Ch. 37

“Up, up, up!” my mom knocked on my door. I opened my eyes to find myself underneath the covers of my bed, hugging against Brandon’s sweatshirt. when I took the blanket off my head and rested it on my shoulders, the sun blinded my eyes. I quickly shut my eyes and sighed. When I rolled over, I found I was also on the wrong side of the bed, my feet propped up on the pillows. I sat up and stretched my arms up, smiling as I looked outside and saw the pool reflecting rays of the sun. Hopefully it was going to be a good day.

“I haven’t done this in awhile,” I told myself as I plugged my iPod in to my laptop and played music. For once, I pressed shuffle and waited for a song to come on. Taylor Swift’s If This Was A Movie started to belt out. She was the only country I listened to, and I turned around, eyeing the mess I had made last night. I stepped over one pile, and another, realizing I was moving my arms and twirling around. I lifted my head higher and jumped over another pile of clothes, giggling as I turned and landed on one foot. Twirl after twirl, I fell back on to my bed in a sweaty mess.

“Hey, the crews are arriving today,” Meghna walked in with Karina. I smiled as they sat next to me.

“Uhm, I think this is yours,” Karina pulled out Brandon’s sweatshirt from under her after she had apparently sat on it. I cuddled it close to my chest, not even having a second thought of Nick. Brandon, he was all I could think about when I felt my hands touch the pockets of the sweatshirt. All I could think about when I smelled the cologne. My heart ached for him.

“Do you miss him?” Meghna said quietly.

I smiled, “I do. I really do.” I hugged it tighter, letting my cheek press against it.

“And Nick? Gabriela?” Karina asked.

“I don’t know. Nick, he’s fine. I still am unsure about Gabriela,” I shrugged. “She did nothing wrong.”

“Well, we got a big day ahead. Who wants to go meet us some Jabbowockeez?” Meghna stood up and gave us high fives. I nodded and shooed them out. I got a shower, straightened my hair, and got dressed. I couldn’t wait to meed the Jabbowockeez! I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to meet ChaChi either. It was going to be an awesome day.

“Come on, we’re gonna be late to the studio!” CeCe ran past my room.

“Coming!” I closed my laptop and reached for my phone. I walked over my door and started to head out as I unlocked my phone. It opened up my notifications:

Call From Nick<3

Call From Brandon<3

I stood and stared at the screen, contemplating what to do.

“Averi, come on!” Sarah and the girls yelled up at me. I looked back at my phone one last time before throwing it back on my bed and shutting the door slowly. I could go without my phone for one day. Just one day without my boys…

***Sorry its so short but I have news! I bought JB tickets today for November! Eeeeek! And I only have 4 days of school left before I’m a freshman. Ahh, I’m kinda nervous about that. I’m going to an academy though so hopefully it’s not too bad. Anyways, Thanks SOO much for reading. I miss you guys inboxing me! (:

Another ICONic Story Season 3 Ch. 36

It was our second day of rehearsing. I realized we actually arrived quite early, because none of the other crews had even arrived yet. Thankfully Leena didn’t make us wear the stupid outfits again. After an agonizing 4 hours with Gabriela, I’d had enough. When we all got back to the condo, mom held a box at the counter.

“What’s that?” we all walked in and Dad closed the door.

My mom smirked, “Don’t think I didn’t remember your school work.”

“Mom!” I whined. “There is only like 2 weeks of school left.”

“Exactly, now do your work. The teachers already wrote down everyone’s different assignments.” My mom handed out the Algebra and US History textbooks.

“This is ridiculous, just like everything else,” I whined as I trudged up the stairs.

“Hey, Averi,” Gabriela yelled up at me, “We should all have a study group and do our work together.”

“Have fun!” I waved without looking back. Never would I ever work with her besides dance. Leena was at the top of the stairs, crosisng her arms. I stopped in my tracks and stared at my feet. I knew her look. She guided me in to my room.

“Alright, spill,” she sat on my bed as I continued to stand.

I looked to the window, “I can’t work with Gabriela.”

“And why not?”

“It’s complicated, but please Leena-“

She snapped, “Tell or I don’t give you a new partner!”

Silence.

She continued, “I’m sorry I lashed at you. Listen, I really do want to help you. You’ve been my student for very long and I really care about you. Please tell me,” she grabbed my shoulders.

I stared in her eyes, not answering her questions. She sighed, dropped her shoulders, and left so I could be in peace. I sat against my pillow as I laid the Algebra book in my lap. The teacher crammed all the papers inside including the final test of the year. A pen was pressed in between my lips as I tried to concentrate on the first question.  I opened up my laptop to look at a lesson online, when my Skype buzzed. My pen dropped.

“You didn’t call me,” Brandon immediately spoke when I accepted.

“I know,” I looked down. “I’ve been busy.”

“Well, how’s my girl doing?” he smiled.

“She’s confused,” I fidgeted my fingers and bit my lip. “And has a lot of pressure on her.” I told him everything. Even about how I was jealous that Gabriela kissed Nick. My favorite thing about Brandon is that he was fine about me still not letting go of Nick. I told him about the outfits last.

“Make a surprise,” he perked up. “Be a rebel!”

“What?” I laughed.

“If you don’t like the outfits, hide something under it. Let everyone know you’re there to be serious, and that you aren’t the sweet girl everyone thinks you are. It’ll make a lasting impression. The audience will love it!”

“What about my crew?” a headache started pressing against my temples.

“They don’t have to know either. I have to go, but I’ll be watching. Make an impression,” and he was off. After contemplating what he said, I raced to my suitcase that I still hadn’t unpacked. I threw out clothes, searching for anything that could be taken as serious. When I found the right outfit, I put it on, sliding the girly outfit over it. The pink hid it well. http://www.polyvore.com/s3_ch_36/set?id=49328646

“Hey, Averi can you help me with this-” Meghna busted through my door just as I slid the black strap of the shirt under the pink. I jumped and covered my shoulders, and she stood there in confusion.

“Help you with what?” I tried to break the awkward silence.

“This question on the Algebra..” she inched towards me slowly. “What are you doing?”

“Nothing, just putting on the outfit again.”

“Your clothes are everywhere,” she eyed my room. She looked back at me. When I wasn’t expecting it, she lifted her hand and pulled the pink down, revealing the black. I pulled it up fast, my eyes widened. She furrowed her eyebrows, “You weren’t thinking of..”

“Yes, I was. I’m sorry,” I sat in a heap on the bed.

“No, because I was thinking of doing the EXACT same thing,” her hand pressed my shoulder.

I looked up slowly. Had she just offered to help me? When I asked the question through my eyes, she nodded slowly. We had formed an alliance, and we were going to attempt what had never been done before on ABDC. We were breaking free, and I finally felt like I could be myself away from he crew. I might be going against my family and Leena, but hopefully it would all be worth it.

***Hopefully you guys had an amazing weekend like I did! I only have SEVEN days of school left. YAY! Inbox me how many you have left, and hopefully not any less than me, cuz that’s just unfair haha. Thanks for reading guys(:

Another ICONic Story Season 3 Ch. 35

“It’s time to go record our starting intros,” Karina came and sat on my bed, patting my back. I opened my eyes and turned towards her. I nodded silently and let her walk out of the room before I hopped in the shower than curled my hair. Karina came back in with the outfits Leena had planned for us. http://www.polyvore.com/s3_ch.29/set?id=48046454

“You got to be kidding me,” I sighed. “We’re still wearing these?”

“I tried talking her out of it, really,” Karina sighed too. “She said no.”

“Of course,” I put my hands on my hips.

“Are you okay?” Karina leaned against the door and watched me.

I looked down, “There’s just a lot going on right now I guess. I’ll be out in a minute, I’m going to get dressed.”

She left and I slipped the outfit on. It was itchy and uncomfortable, and the tiara hurt my scalp. The shoes were too tight, and they felt like they were going to give me blisters on the back of my feet. I just ignored it and skipped down the stairs. Everyone was crowded around the island counter, grabbing donuts and apples and breakfast bars. My dad was hurrying everyone outside. I grabbed an apple quickly before being shoved in to the car.

“Seat belts on?” Dad looked through the rearview mirror. We all nodded. When we arrived at the studio, Karina and I looped arms. Meghna joined on my free arm and we walked inside together.

“Aah, my girls!” Lil Mama and JC greeted us at the door with flowers for each of us. Meghna, Karina, Sarah, and I hugged her tight as all the other girls stood back. Se looked at them as well, “Why hello my new girls. Get on in here!”

We all giggled and I looked over her shoulder. D-Trix peeked his head through a door, and I squealed. He backed up as I made a run for him. As I chased him, I ran through a door that led to the stage. He disappeared around a corner as I stopped in my tracks. The stage was idle, motionless, and quiet. I took a deep breath as I saw the doors, the lights, the banners already hanging up. Each of them were sparkling with a golden glitter symbolizing each of the winners. I put my fingers to my lips and felt my eyes get hot.

“Averi-” Meghna chased in behind me but stopped when she saw everything. Karina and Sarah ran in grabbing our shoulders, only stopping in silence as well.

I felt the corners of my mouth curl downward as I trembled, “We’re here…”

Karina pinched the bridge of her nose and took in a sniff. She leaned her head in to Meghna’s shoulder, and we all crowded in to a group hug. We were here all over again. It was unreal. We stood for minutes just taking deep breaths, hugging, and crying.

“You guys are such great actors,” D-Trix laughed from the stage. We looked up to see him holding a cameraman’s recorder.

“We weren’t acting,” I wiped a tear away.

He stepped back and gave the cameraman’s recorder back, whispering. He turned back to us, “I think we just found part of your new starting intro!”

“What?” Meghna laughed. “That?”

“Yeah, who wants to see us crying?” Sarah wiped her eyes with her wrist.

D-Trix jumped off the stage and gave us all noogies as he laughed, “It’s an emotional catch for the audience.”

“Can we hang around for a little bit? Like, in here?” Karina asked.

D-Trix shrugged, “I gotta shoot a vid in 5 for a friend, but later, I promise.”

“Ryan?” I asked as he ushered us out the doors and back in to the lobby. “A video for Ryan?”

“Ryan?” Karina looked at me.

“Ryan Higa,” I laughed.

“You got it,” D-Trix winked and walked out the front doors. When it was time to go rehearse in the studios, Leena had changed her outfit to match ours as well.

“You aren’t going to wear that during the recording, are you?” Desiree crossed her arms.

“Of course,” Leena winked, and we started our stretches. I kept thinking of something we could do so we wouldn’t have to wear these outfits, but nothing came to mind. I just went along as we started tutting and freestyling to try and put a routine together. My mind raced as I thought of meeting the other crews. It was ecstatic for me just to see the judges again, so I couldn’t wait to meet the other crews, especially the Jabbawockeez.

“Alright, stunt time,” Leena continued. “Averi and Gabriela, pair up, Meghna and Karina-“

“Leena, I need a different partner,” Gabriela cleared her throat.

“Yes, please,” I agreed with Gabriela for once.

“Why?” Leena stopped. “Just be together. It isn’t hard. Come on now, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4!”

I stood by Gabriela and crossed my arms, refusing to make eye contact. I looked over to see CeCe’s eyes staring at the cameraman who had came in, “There are just issues going on right now with Gabriela and Averi. If they don’t work it out soon, out next title could be in jeopardy.”

Now more weight had been pressed on my shoulders. It was my responsibility for out next title. Who knows, would there even be a next?

***Sorry I haven’t posted for days! I only got one inbox so I feel like you guys don’t read anymore. I was thinking maybe tonight, but I’ve been having a hard time coming up with ideas, so I was trying to take a break so I could brainstorm. I have Writer’s Block a lot, so I’m sorry if you want to read! I will try(:

Another ICONic Story Season 3 Ch. 34

I felt myself being pulled in to Meghna’s room as she shut the door. Sitting on her bed, she pulled out her phone, “I let him leave a voice mail. He was afraid to talk to you personally.”

“Oh,” I held it in my hands and pressed the button. His voice began:

I found a note today as you left the airport. When I saw you drop it, my heart stopped until it touched the floor. I feel like everything slowed down when you did, because I had no idea what it was going to say. When Gabriela kissed me, but I saw you…

His voice quivered and cracked. I heard him stop for a moment, taking a deep breath. He… was he tearing up?

I didn’t have any thought when I picked up that little crumpled note. I was so scared. When I read those words, heck, it didn’t even look like your writing. It was so hard to believe that you wrote that, but I thought for 4 straight hours that you really never loved me. Why didn’t you just call me on the plane? When Meghna called, I was so relieved that she helped me understand that of course you didn’t write that note. Whatever happens with you and-

The phone cut off. I looked up at Meghna and she shook her head, “He had a time limit, you know. The phone doesn’t go on forever.”

“Nothing goes on forever,” I sighed and stood up.

“Averi, you and Gabriela,” she stood up.

I pressed my fingers to my temple, “I don’t want to talk about it.”

“We won’t be able to focus if you two are-“

“Stop! Just, stop!” I raised my voice, but lowered it back to a whisper as my head pulsed, “I can handle my own problems. For now, I’m just going to go to bed.”

“It’s only 6,” she watched me leave.

“Yeah,” I walked away from the door and back down the hall, “But back home it’s 10. Goodnight.”

Slamming my door, I screamed in to my pillow. I was tempted to tear down the posters on the wall, but I just stripped the sheets off my bed instead. I wrestled around in them, threw them at the window, letting them drop off the balcony. I freaked out completely, yet I didn’t know why. Clothes were flung out of my bags as I threw them all around my floor, reaching to the box I brought filled with old photos. I dug through them until I found a small pile of Nick and I. One by one, I tore them each down the middle. Taking his halves, I threw them off the balcony. Someone ran out the patio door as I looked down. My mom looked up as she saw me dumping the photos, my face bright red. In the next moment, she was bursting through the door and taking me in her arms. She dragged me back in to the room as I clutched the railing to the balcony. Her fingers clutched mine as she pat my head. She held me and I cried in to her chest. We sat on my bed.

“Shh, It’s okay,” there was sympathy in her voice, like she was about to cry too.

I shook my head and let out a blood curdling moan. Thankfully it wasn’t too loud but it was a noise I had never made, nor had I heard anyone else make it, “I wanted California to be amazing!”

“Mrs.-” Gabriela walked in.

“Oh,” my mom turned around quickly. “Gabriela this isn’t such a-“

“It’s her fault!” I pointed, letting out the same curdling noise. “She kissed Nick! She ruined everything for me!”

“No, Gabriela,” my mom told yelled over my voice. “She’s just in a mood.”

“I understand,” Gabriela ran away. I struggled to run from my mom’s grasp, but she held me against my will. After trying forever, I finally relaxed. Collapsing on her shoulder, I cried to sleep. I still couldn’t process why I was so mad.

As my eyelids flutter, I heard my mom say to me, “I think it’s time we you and Nick sort things out. Goodnight, and I love you.”

*** If you wondered why I talked about my mom in this chapter, it’s because her birthday is tomorrow(: Love you mommy! Hehe, thanks for reading guys! Have a great Wednesday, and I can’t wait to see the Boyz perform tonight on ABDC!

Another ICONic Story Season 3 Ch. 33

“Averi!” Meghna shook my arm, “We’re landing!”

“What?” I sat up, realizing I had fallen asleep. She giggled and when we landed, I stepped off the plane in to LAX. The cool air inside felt great, but it probably meant it was scorching outside. I was so excited to get to Burbank. When I grabbed my suitcase, I dug my phone out of it immediately. Handing it to Meghna, I said, “Call Nick. Explain anything. I’m too scared to talk to him.”

“Okay, but if he wants you you’re getting the phone back,” she dialed. The girls piled up in to 4 different taxis. I was in the last one as I tried to get a different taxi than Meghna. Luckily, I tricked her in to getting the first one so she couldn’t give the phone to me.

“We’re here,” my dad smiled from the front seat. As we arrived at the hotel we stayed  in last year, I jumped out and hurried to grab my luggage out of the trunk.

“Hold it!” My dad smiled and stood on the sidewalk. “Girls, come here!”

What? I was confused. I walked next to Meghna and she gave me a laugh as she waved my phone at my face. I laughed and pulled it away from her. My dad hushed us.

“Now girls, the parents and I have a surprise for you. We’re not staying here,” he smiled. We all looked at eachother in disbelief until he continued, “We rented a condo right on the beach!”

Screaming. That’s the first thing we did. The beach! This was already amazing. Desiree grabbed my arms, “Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!”

Before I knew it, we pulled in to a huge house. Each family got their own room of the house and we all shared a big kitchen and living area that had a big window looking out at the pool. I rushed up the stairs to find a small room to have to myself. I stumbled upon the first door on the right. I touched the door handle, feeling a spark of excitement. Something unbelievable was behind the door. I turned it and opened it slowly. I gasped as the door opened itself. A small bed occupied the corner. Tons of posters and quotes hung on the wall. Icicle lights hung from the ceiling in bright colors, and a curtain hugged the window that had the garden and pool in the background. A small desk sat in another corner where I could put my laptop. I was absolutely stunned. This was my new room. I rushed back to the stairs, “Dad! How far away is the pier?”

“The Santa Monica Pier you guys went to?” he looked up to the balcony where I stood. “Google said only 32 minutes.”

“Averi, come look at my room!” Karina came up and grabbed my hand. Rushing behind her, I went in to her room. It was almost identical to mine. As I checked the other girls’ rooms, I found all of ours were similar.”

“They know how girls like their rooms,” Sarah smiled.

“This is just too amazing,” CeCe hugged Gabriela. Gabriela… I hadn’t talked to her since the flight. She smiled at me, but I looked away.

“Oh, Averi,” Meghna leaned in next to my ear to whisper, “I want to tell you what Nick said.”
